National Women's Political Caucus Endorses Cindy Allen for City Council

Continuing to gather support from key local organizations, today, long-time community leader and Long Beach City Council 2nd District candidate Cindy Allen announced the endorsement of the National Women’s Political Caucus.

Founded during the modern women’s movement, the NWPC is a “multicultural intergenerational, and multi-issue grassroots organization dedicated to increasing women’s participation in the political process and creating a true women’s political power base to achieve equality for all women.” The organization is committed to recruiting, training, and supporting pro-choice female candidates for elected office, in addition to providing them with financial contributions.

Allen released this statement in response to the endorsement:

“It is an incredible honor to receive support from a group of such accomplished and inspiring women. The NWPC has been instrumental in the fight for many of the freedoms and political privileges women have today, and I am proud to have earned their endorsement. Our journey, however, remains unfinished, and while I am unwavering in my support for continuing the fight for women's legal, economic, and social equity, I will not stop there. I pledge to advocate for strong environmental protections, more affordable housing, protecting immigrant rights, ending institutional racism, and continuing the fight for our LGBTQ+ friends and family. I am committed to advancing these positions in the City Council and pushing our city to enact more progressive policies.”
