Cindy Allen had this to say about her most recent string of endorsements:

"I am thrilled to receive the early support of so many community leaders and residents of the 2nd District. Together, we will get back to basics and restore the quality of life for residents in every corner of the district. I look forward to representing their voice on the City Council.”

Cindy Allen is a longtime Long Beach resident and a decorated public servant who knows the value of hard work and perseverance. Raised on the westside of Long Beach by a single mother, Cindy learned at an early age, the challenges that poverty, drug addiction, and the need for better health care can have on a family. She quickly decided that she would succeed where others had not and would change her family’s circumstances.

Professionally, Allen has had a diverse career in the City of Long Beach. With nearly a decade of service with the Long Beach Police Department, she was awarded over 20 commendations for bravery and exceptional service. As one of the very few women in the department at the time, she worked to ensure that women were treated equally in the department and given the same opportunities to succeed. After a career-ending injury on the job, Cindy took the opportunity to re-invest in Long Beach and continue to give back to the city that had given her countless opportunities.

As a breast cancer survivor, celebrating over 5 years of being cancer free, Cindy understands how important women’s health issues are and the impact they have on our communities’ families. As the mother of a gay daughter, she understands the importance of equal protections for all.

Most recently, Cindy has been an entrepreneur and small business owner employing over a dozen local Long Beach residents. At its launch 14 years ago, Agency: ETA was a start-up marketing and advertising firm that grew into a multi-million dollar company providing services for national brands, local businesses, and public agencies.

Cindy has also been widely recognized for her contributions to Long Beach, including being awarded Business Woman of the Year by the Long Beach Press-Telegram and being appointed by Supervisor Janice Hahn as a commissioner to the Los Angeles County Small Business Administration. She is deeply involved in the Long Beach community and has served on numerous boards and foundations.
